Police: Woman shot after alleged road rage incident with stolen vehicle

AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) -- A woman was shot and seriously injured Sunday morning in what the Aurora Police Department believed was a road rage incident involving a stolen vehicle.APD said the woman, who is 18 years old, was shot near Smoky Hill Road and Chambers Road just before 6 a.m. and taken to the hospital.The suspect vehicle, a red Kia SUV, was stolen and recovered at the scene.According to police, the driver and people in the stolen SUV were involved in a crash with the woman in her vehicle just before the shooting. When the suspects tried to leave, the woman chased them. Why isn’t Colorado on permanent daylight saving time? She told police that four males got out of the SUV and ran away. When she started running after them, one of them turned and shot her.Police told FOX31 that woman is expected to survive. No suspects have been identified, APD said. (KDVR) -- The University of Colorado women's basketball team will play in the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament next week.The tournament begins Wednesday with two First Four games. The full madness starts with 16 games Friday and 16 more the next day.The No. 6 seeded Buffs will tip off against the No. 11 seed Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders for the first round of the Seattle 4 bracket on March 18. The time of the game is to be determined. March Madness 2023: Set your brackets! Tide the No. 1 seed CU is 23-8-0 for the season while Middle Tennessee is 28-4-0. The South Carolina Gamecocks are ranked No. 1 overall and are the 18th team to reach the NCAA tourney unbeaten. The parents of a middle school student in Lauderhill said they are demanding accountability for those responsible for the bullying and taunting that led to a schoolyard brawl that left their son injured, as well as the school administrators who did nothing to protect him. ENCINITAS, Calif. -- A restaurant in Encinitas is aiming to re-open its doors this summer after a fire destroyed the popular eatery back in 2019.Peace Pies, a Bohemian-style café with a locally sourced menu of raw, vegan, gluten-free and soy-free dishes, was one of several businesses on the corner of North Coast Highway 101 and Daphne Street that were affected by the fire. A spokesperson for Peace Pies said that based on the local fire department's investigation, the origin of the fire was a neighboring unit; however, the exact cause in unknown. Carter made history: The costume designer behind the “Black Panther” films has become the first Black woman to win two Oscars.Carter took home best costume design for the Marvel sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Carter also won an Academy Award in 2018 for “Black Panther,” which made her the first African American to win in the category. CHICAGO — A Chicago man has filed a class-action lawsuit against Buffalo Wild Wings, claiming the restaurant chain falsely advertises its boneless wings as the real deal, when in reality, he believes them to be nothing more than chicken nuggets.According to court documents obtained by WGN, the plaintiff, Aimen Halim, filed a complaint Friday in the U.S. District Court of Northern Illinois against Buffalo Wild Wings and Inspire Brands Inc., an Atlanta-based company who the complaint says "is responsible for the composition, preparation, advertising, marketing and sale of" Buffalo Wild Wings' product.The complaint seeks to challenge what it calls "the false and deceptive marketing and advertising of Buffalo Wild Wings' Boneless Wings," and goes on to say, "Specifically, the name and description of the Products (i.e., as "Boneless Wings") leads reasonable consumers to believe the Products are actually chicken wings."
