GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — No. 18 Liberty rolled through its sixth season as a Division I program undefeated, earning a spot in Monday’s Fiesta Bowl.Awaiting the Flames in the desert is something unlike anything they’ve faced, maybe ever: the big, bad Oregon Ducks.“It doesn’t take a lot of time to watch the video to know how talented they are,” Liberty coach Jamey Chadwell said. “We shared with them (the team), and I think I’ve said it before, they’re six points away from playing for a national championship. That’s how good they are. Going into championship weekend, they were the favorites to win the national championship. They’re tremendous.”Oddsmakers certainly think so. No. 8 Oregon is a 17 1/2-point favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, one of the most lopsided betting lines during bowl season. The Ducks (11-2) steamrolled through their schedule, outside of two games against No. 2 Washington, one of four College Football Playoff teams. Ustedes son nuestros héroes”, dijo Putin.“Hemos demostrado más de una vez que podemos resolver los problemas más difíciles y nunca daremos marcha atrás. TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is confident he can lead the nation’s most prolific offense into the post-Jayden Daniels era.The patient third-year sophomore will make his first college start, stepping in for the Heisman Trophy winner when the 13th-ranked Tigers (9-3) face Wisconsin (8-5) in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Monday.Daniels, who threw for 3,812 yards and ran for 1,134 while also accounting for 50 touchdowns, opted out of the SEC-Big Ten matchup at Raymond James Stadium to prepare for the upcoming NFL draft.“I wouldn’t say I’m looking at it as an opportunity to build for next season. That’s my biggest focus.”Nussmeier, who turns 22 in February, has appeared in parts of 17 games over three seasons with the Tigers. LONDON (AP) — Arsenal is limping into 2024 after a damaging stretch that culminated in what coach Mikel Arteta called “the worst performance of the season” on the final day of the year. A toothless Arsenal side lost 2-1 at Fulham on Sunday despite taking the lead in the fifth minute, a second straight defeat that means the team stayed in fourth place in the Premier League — when a victory would have lifted it into first. “It’s a really sad day because today we didn’t deserve to win the game,” Arteta said. “That was the worst performance of the season.”It continued a worrying run that has seen Arsenal end 2023 with just one win in its last five league games, including its first home loss of the season to West Ham on Thursday. Arsenal would have provisionally climbed above Liverpool atop the table with a win, but could find itself five points off the lead if Jurgen Klopp’s team beats Newcastle on Monday. Arsenal stayed in fourth — having been top of the table at Christmas — and ...20-year-old woman dies after possible stabbing in Federal Heights

With the books closed on 2023 it’s fair to say it was a year filled with turmoil both domestically and internationally. The nation began the year with egg prices sitting at historic highs, struggling to overcome the lingering impacts of inflation, and dealing with increased energy prices driven by COVID-19 recovery and a war in Europe. The 2024 election had officially begun with former President Donald Trump’s announcement he would seek a second term for a second time. The drama continued in January with a new Republican led U.S. House of Representatives, whose first action was to spend days struggling to select a speaker. After 15 ballots, the most since the Civil War era, California Republican Kevin McCarthy won the gavel. He would hold it for only nine months, after members of his own party eventually moved to replace him with a relatively unknown U.S. Representative from Louisiana, now-Speaker Mike Johnson. After the drama in D.C., in February the nation turned its eyes to the...Latest news
